Back on October 13, 2011, I drove over the metal portion of the Lee Bridge and it blew my tire. I contacted the City of Richmond and was referred to the company that handles claims for the City of Richmond. I have been informed that the city is not liable for my tire because they did not know beforehand that there was a defect with the metal portion of the bridge. On the day of this incident several motorists had to pull onto the right shoulder of the bridge due to having their tires blown. A police officer was also on the scene. Within a week or so of this incident the metal portion of the bridge was removed.
