My great-grandfather OLIVER KELLY WAS BORN IN NEWTOWN TIPPERARY 1827. His wife,s name was Julia Gleeson.He left Ireland about 1847 after sailing across the ocean in a famine ship,he arrived at grosse ilsle QUEBEC ?COLERA and OTHER SICK IRISH IMMIGRANTS were left on the island in horrid conditions to get better or die! OLIVER KELLY MADE IT FROM QUEBEC. CITY TO YORK ( toronto ) upper Canada UNDERNOURISHED SICK AND POOR WHERE LEFT IN A MAKEUP TENT CITY NEAR ST PAULS BACILICA on Torontos waterfront! THOUSANDS DIED UNDER THE POOR CONDITIONS AND WERE BURIED IN MASS GRAVES(UNMARKED)! my grandfather MICHEAL KELLY was born near KETTLEBY ONTARIO ( NEWMARKET ) KING TWP. County York.1858 IT CAME TO MY ATTENTION FROM A STORY IN THE TORONTO STAR NEWSPAPER SAT AUG.6 2011" near the site(mentioned above) it was decided the city of Toronto would dig a hole to errect a faculty hospital building to house a Toronto aboriginal health -care group,however the bulldozer uncovered the remains of our IRISH FORE FATHERS!!!!!!!!IRISH THINK ABOUT THIS!
