My wife and I each year attend one or two high school football playoff games and this past Friday decided to attend the Marion Franklin/Big Walnut game. Neither of us had a favorite team and we attended just to watch a game in the Franklin County area. Both of us were "taken back" by the officiating in this game. I know nothing about the history of either of these teams and I have no significant experience coaching or officiating. I realize the human influence in games since I was an ASA umpire for a number of years. However, decretion seemed to be lacking with this group and it looked somewhat obvious. On one drive, the defensive team was flagged for close to 60 yards, giving the other team quite an advantage. There were a number of other "calls" and the problem was they were all against the same team. I would encourage you to objectively review the film of this game for future improvement of officials.
