I was stationed in Holy Lock Scotland in 1979. Just prior to returning to the states, I had been told that the items I had shipped home had never made it and that there had been a fire in Norfolk which may have consumed many of the packages shipped from Site One. Other members of the crew were told the same thing. Can anyone validate this? I realize that since I had no insurance I cannot claim lost property, but I would like to know if the story told to me is true.
