i was diagnosed with pernicious anemia 18 months ago. i have been having B12 injections , originally weekly and now 2 monthly, but after feeling fantastic originally, I now feel all the syptoms have returned. Has anyone out there got any answers, cause I'm struggling through the day now!. my doctor is not a lot of help!

I was diagnosed in July 2002 and had a course of 5 or 6 in the first 2 weeks and then 3 monthly since. In Nov 2006 my symptoms started returning. I went to the doctor but couldn't find out what the problem was as my B12 levels were "normal". I started getting mouth ulcers and feeling excessively tired again after approx 6 weeks, still no joy. On my last visit to the nurse I made an appointment with the doctor as I had done a lot of research and found there are quite a few people out there similar to me. I asked my doctor if I could have 6 weekly injections and he has agreed. I go for my 6 weekly one in 2 weeks time. I told him I would still monitor my reactions and then we will meet up again in 6 months. Last year I was using B12 spray which seemed to work when the injection wore off. Go back to your docs and ask for more frequent injections. Good luck. Carol
