RAF No 281 MU appears to have been air brushed from any reference to this site. Certainly it was operational between February 1952 and June 1953 because I was stationed there, living in Nisson huts surrounded by farm land.
The station was essentially an American USAF bomb storage unit with an RAF permanent staff of some 280 souls, the Americans all commuting daily from civilian accommodation in Kings Lynn or nearby flying stations.
