a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigot.

You don't have to agree with someone when you tolerate them like you do me. The christian idea of tolerance is in the form of LOVINGING YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. This is something you seem to have forgotton. Even if he does not agree with you!

Thanks for defining the word for me, Mike .I do forget sometimes that I'm living in the world of 'people'..haha..

Again my perspective was oblique.

I tried to remind people that Islam is not about 'boasting about being Muslim' all the time and thinking 'low' of other people outside the fold of Islam.

Islam is a 'true religion' it's the religion of 'human nature'..and is all about submitting to ONE GOD...and beliveing that the real sovereignity belongs to Him and Him alone. (Well..He shouldn't be playing games of becoming humans, from time to time..thou!)

So everyone, belonging to any religion of the world, who sincerely believes in One God and in meeting Him on the Judgment day...BELONGS TO ISLAM..and must not be 'judged' by 'Muslims'..(sometimes Muslims don't belong to Islam at all...when they associate partners with Allah)

This very concept/belief, can at least 'remove' the prejudice from a Muslim heart and makes it humble before the Real God..and for people 'around' him/her..including neighbors...

By the way..do Christians really follow this 'golden rule'..too..hmmm..

This is an example of religious INtolerance. You can't believe in more than one god, or less than one. That makes you intolerant by definition. Not very gracious, impressive, or courteous...nor tolerant.
