Royal Hierarchies and Few Incentives for Peace

When any government creates a hierarchy where pay and status is offered for services, there can be little incentive for peace, particularly where those benefits extend for the life of the participant.

It may have been necessary in times past where the kings had no other "currency" to pay soldiers, but that time is long past, and where land rights of feudalism has given way to status and pay, less is more, or there is no incentive for peace. In that respect, the draft became a very useful tool for most military service.

It may not affect the Military Knights of Windsor, but when the military is made into royalty, there cannot be much respect for "royal blood," since all are entitled to enjoy the status. It rather dilutes the blood line doesn't it to trade royal status for military services with recognition for life?
