General Del Valle, the idiot, should have been court-martialed. He send two battalions of the 1st Marines to relieved the 1st Batt. of the 5th Marines who have taken the castle without firing a shoot since the Japanese had moved south abandoning the castle. Del Valle send two-thirds of the 1st Marines across the 77th ID's boundary. Airstrikes were called for 105 & 155mm artilery was registered. A 77th ID patrol save the day when it discovered that those out front were Americans. Anything for some glory.
