I learned of St. Eustace after researching my family crest. On the top of my family crest is a deer which relates to the story of St. Eustace. Then I read that the story was "completly fabulous". And it leaves me to wander if my family leaving the roman catholic churh had any thing to do with the decision of removal of the holiday. I know they would never admit it. I wonder what other saints and martyors have been disassociated.
