The Constitution of the United States is the work of brilliant minds. It has ensured liberty for over 200 years and has created a system of government that made the United States the most dominant country in the world.

...but it's time that we acknowledged that it is outdated. The world has changed greatly since 1788. The vast majority of the founders responsible for that document would surely acknowledge that weapons have become so violent that the security of our citizens is vastly more important than preserving the outdated notion that weapons protect us from abusive governments.

Gun violence in the United States is an epidemic. Let's put aside our reverence for the constitution and its authors and put an end to our national shame.

What you say is true I agree completely! However I am not to concerned with other governments at this time. I am concerned with our society we live in on our own soil and people all around us. I have a family to protect! With the times being what they are i will surrender my weapons after they get them from all our convicts and thugs in our society today. I am afraid i will have to wait to be convinced of this before I make a action as radical and miscalculated as that and leave my pants down around my ankles. I will wait to be last.
