Going through two different religious writings including the Bible and Egypts Book of the Dead. Both refer to a man in the same period of time that saved Egypt and the Pharo at the time from 7 years of famine through visions seen in his dreams.

Joseph was the 11th son of Jacob, the Patriarch of Israel. Joseph was 30 years old when he became the sage or visier to Pharaoh. The Pharaohs became wealthy and powerful because of Joseph. Joseph brought up all the land of Egypt (except for that of the priest's) and reduced the Egyptian people to servitude. He married the daughter of the High Priest in Heliopolis (Capital city 'On'). He was the father of Ephraim and Manasseh. He lived to the age of 110 and ensured the survival of the Israelites.

Egyptian history records a visier to Pharaoh Djoser of the third dynasty by the name of Imhotep who lived for 110 years and saved Egypt from a seven year famine and made Egypt very wealthy. He is said to have designed the first pyramid, been the first to used columns in architecture, performed operations and established the practice of embalming. He wrote many literary works and was the first to use papyrus.

"He is said to have designed the first pyramid"
Now following this line of thinking...
Would not a Pyramid of vast size collect a lot of rain water and have a perfect set up for irrigation control?
At the same time it collects and stores rain it could store the grain and wheat needed to out last a seven years famine.
Structurely the pyramid would in fact be the most sound storange device as well as a water capture/control device do to its shape and its massive size.

I am thinking like no one has ever thought of this before but more then likely this theory has been shot down already.
Either way replies are welcome and thank you for your patience in reading this.

You're right about one thing. The pyramid was used to collect rainwater, but it is much more complex than you can imagine. I just wrote a book on the subject. If you are still out there, I'd like to discuss it.

I think Imohotep and the 3rd dynasty is much too early for Joseph and Jacob. Much more likely to be the end of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt. There has been a book written trying to prove that Joseph was Nefetiti's father, the visier Hui - but that was not until the New Kingdom and the 18th Dynasty.

You're right. The Old Kingdom is far too early for Joseph. I like the book you mentioned. I read it and I agree with a lot of the theories the author has about the similarities. The mummy is interesting in that he had red hair (I think that was the color). The mummy did not seem to be native to Egypt. In response to the pyramids' function as a grain storage device, it should be noted that grain has not been found in the chambers of the pyramids of the Old Kingdom. However, it is certainly possible that their rooms could have been used to store all kinds of things. The interior corridors were rather impractical for the purpose of hauling bags of grain because they were usually slanted and had low ceilings. Additionally, the entrances to the passages were blocked so well that they were probably not intended to be reopened. Not practical for an access door to a silo. Furthermore, if they were used for silos, the rooms would have been larger, or more numerous. My personal theory is that the chambers were used for symbolic burials (of an empty sarcophagus). Two pyramid chambers have been found intact, and they contained empty yet sealed sarcophagi.
