This year has been awful with these 1" bugs mainly in my basement. I'm not exactly what they are. They appear to be Millipede, brown in color,about one inch log, don't live very long, and when touched or swepted up they curl into a ball. I sweep up 5 to 10 a day and have picked them up in the kitchen and bathroom.

Any idea as to what they are? Why they are here? And to get rid of them?
