Subject: vibration of the gas turbine
We have a problem with our ALSTHOM gas turbine model PG 3341-25MW. This unit had an unnormal periodical vibration between (0.2-0.5 in/s) while its permissible rang is 1 in/s. the operator stopped the unit ,but this stopping happened far sooner than normally did, which caused damage to the journal bearing of the exhaust side, failure of the shaft , and contacting the turbine blades to the casing.
After repairing the unit, it operated for 8 days, and then again the same failure happened without we know why.
Please , help us concerning the cause of this problem.
