S1W is currently decommissioned and has been since the mid 1980's. The building she was housed in still remains and I imagine the hull itself though I am not sure but the reactor is long gone as are all the prototype reactors once operated at the Naval Reactor Facility. Few prototypes exist today as the Navy has switched to the moored training ship idea whereby older submarines are pulled into the pier and set up as prototypes.

When I was there from 1976-1980 the core was an S5W core 4. Her original designation was Submarine Thermal Reactor Mark I when she was constructed.
