From off the top of my head senescent as an adjective refers to a possible mental infirmity due to advanced age (senility) while quiescent to my knowledge is an adjective that is refering to a personality trait that is the opposite of boisterous, or loud, but not as severe as withdrawn which is also used in pychological terminology. eg quiescent can be used to describe someone who is in a meditative state. or just shy.
