The Naked Gun movies are full of references to other films, especially classic ones.

The ankle bracelet scene in Naked Gun echoes a scene in 'Double Indemnity' a classic of the "film noir" genre.

Another reference to Double Indemnity is the scene where Jane first meets Frank - appearing at the top of the stairs looking sultry and mysterious, and spoils the effect by falling down them.

In Double Indemnity both the ankle bracelet and stairs scenes are played straight - and are in fact sizzling with sexy undertones, snappy dialogue, and a sense that fate is going to take these people somewhere very bad indeed!
