Most of the evidence was 'spectral evidence,' in which the accuser claimed to have seen the apparition of the alleged witch.

A 'witch cake,' made from rye meal and the urine of the accused, was fed to a dog; if the witch was hurt, it was considered to be evidence of her allegiance with the devil.

Many forms of evidence were things we wouldn't give a second glance nowadays. Things like a mole, for instance were accused of being tits on which the supposed witch nursed demons. Merely saying the afflicted girls were liars would be used against the witch, for then they would be accused of trying to cover up thier guilt. Milk going sour when the supposed witch walked by your door or any misfortune while the'witch' was newar could be used against the unfortunate victim.
