Robin came from Loxley which is in South Yorkshire. Loxley was owned by the knightly Wadsley family who possessed Loxley Common and Loxley Chase that was for the hunting of the deer. There were fletchers living on Loxley chase, they made arrows, and Robin's enemy John Gisbourne was the Lord Mayor of York.

It is thanks to two researchers Rob and David who found a pardon for Robin in the Public Record Office at Kew that we now have this information.
