My grandparents lived in Leipzig before they came to the USA i believe around 1816..on the ship from Baden,Germany.. Grandfather & Grandmother's name was Ludwig & Sophia Sowa..they had a daughter that stayed in Leipzig Maria Sowa with my Great Grandmother..she eventually married and had two children boy and girl.My grandfather was from Poland but came over to Leipzig. They were Catholic and thinking they would of went to the oldest church there in Leipzig St. Nicolas? If anyone could give me any information at all..or where i could find these records in the Church or City Hall? I have been searching for a long time..don't know anything about my Grandfather like where he was from in Poland.
