For the movie twilight, I was told that all websites that Bella visited about the quileutes were created specifically for the movie, and never actually posted to the internet. But I've been told that the site http://www.quileutes.com/quileute-legend/kweeti-quileute-wolves.html was the actual site used in the movie. This site does seem to have a good assortment of Folklore. Maybe this is the site she got her information from?
Any help would be appreciated.

I visited the site above, doesn't look like the one in the movie. I'm pretty sure the website that bella uses is really only in movie twilight. But this could be one of the sources where Stephenie Meyer got her information about quileutes from, when working on the books.

Actually, i found something:
(from http://www.native-languages.org/quileute-legends.htm)
quote: "Are the "Cold Ones" from Twilight a real Quileute legend?
No. There are no Quileute legends about "Cold Ones" or other vampires. Stephenie Meyer, the author of the "Twilight" books, has stated that she made this fictional vampire legend up herself and only had her Quileute character tell it for the purposes of her plot. However, she did base other parts of her books on real Quileute mythology. For example, it is true that according to legend the Quileute tribe is descended from wolves who were changed into men. Even the tribal name "Quileute" comes from their word for wolf, Kwoli."

The Quileute Legend about them decending from wolves must be true, it is all over the internet and no one disputes it. I found a good site with the information on the Quileute Legends (http://quileutelegend.net/twilight/quileute-legend.html)they say that "the trickster can perform tricks often attributed to having supernatural powers" maybe this is where Stephanie got her ideas from?
