I am aware that commercial fishing would more than likely include the use of a variety of safety-wear equipment. However, I was wondering if fishing as a sport might warrant the use of safety equipment or at least to have it on hand. Although sport fishing tends to be in a more controlled environment (meaning preference where to fish such as location via boat, pier or land), could an angler use safety equipment such as visible-colored safety vests in the event of an accident or sudden on-set of a medical condition? What about headlamps (lamps worn on the head)? Certainly light may scare away the fish, but what about a headlamp that has specific features? Features such as the use of a very small convenient light worn on the head with a simple push of a button to see what you're doing rather than hugging the flashlight under the arm pit; a headlamp that has a tilt feature that assists you while fumbling through your tackle or to better see while you're baiting the hook? What about an additional feature that allows for a strobe effect in the event of a medical emergency so that others can easily spot you? What about a red-dot lighting mode so that others know where you're at without disturbing them or the fish? All of these features with a longer burn time sourcing the simple use of an alkaline battery. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK?
