I don't know! For revenge? Envy? Just out of plain hatred? There are many reasons that the murderer has or that they deem justified that may just seem crazy or ridiculous to sane peoples.

I honestly believe it was for none of those reasons that Mark wanted to kill Mr. Griffin. I think he is just one out of control psychopath, who needs intense therapy, I might add!

Well, for revenge? he only was a strict teacher, envy, what did he have that they were jealous of? hatred is not a good enough reason either
