Biography

In July 2009, Traore signed a 3-year contract with Gold Coast United, after impressing in trial matches. Traore is Currently playing for the Under 21's Côte d'Ivoire national Youth team. He has openly stated that he would like to become an Australian citizen, and play for the Socceroos. This, of course, is not possible as he has appeared for the Under 21's Côte d'Ivoire national Youth team and FIFA nationality 'switches' can only take place if the player has both nationalities at the time he plays for the Under 21s. Abama did not have Australian citizenship when he played for the Under 21's Côte d'Ivoire national Youth team and therefore is ineligible to represent Australia at any level.
