Adorable Rubí. As Adorable Rubí he was one of the pioneers of the Exotico wrestling style, mixing Cross-dressing
with wrestling to create sexually ambiguous characters. The Adorable Rubí character was inspired by Dizzy Gardenia, the first successful Exotico character. Adorable Rubí, Sergio el Hermoso and Bello Greco formed a group called Ola Lila (the "Lilac Wave") who wrestled all over Mexico. Of the three Adorable Rubí saw the most success in the ring, defeating Ciclón Veloz, Jr. to win the Mexican National Middleweight Championship
on April 6, 1971. Rubí held the title for 196 days before losing the belt to Aníbal
on June 28, 1974. on February 27, 1976 Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre
(EMLL) bookers decided to make Adorable Rubí the new NWA World Light Heavyweight Champion
, EMLL's most prestigious championship. Rubí defeated Dr. Wagner
for the title, holding it for 231 days before losing the belt to Carlos Plata on July 16, 1976. On October 7, 1984 he became the second man to hold the Mexican National Cruiserweight Championship

to win the title, a title he would lose to Charro de Jalisco
in 1986, not long before he retired from professional wrestling.
