The project "Helvetia Express" of a low cost airlines based in Zurich was planned by Gemania Express/GEXX as well als Air Berlin
in 2004 as Air Zürich. It was intended to start operations from Zürich by the end of 2004/early 2005 with Fokker100 aircraft coming from the Germania (airline)
-fleet. Proposed destinations have been e.g. Palma de Mallorca or Alicante.
The domain airzuerich.ch was secured by Air Berlin
, but it seems that there is no further activity, and the Helvetia Express project was cancelled and the operations in Switzerland are operated by the German airlines from Zürich.
