Due to the closing of the sugar
industry in Trinidad and Tobago
, the ATSGWTU has lost around 10,000 members over the past four years. The union is currently restructuring and attempting to focus on continued growth and development. The union is also considering changing its name to the All Trinidad General Workers' Trade Union, because of a loss of the country's sugar industry.
