America's Auction Network
Encyclopedia
America's Auction Network (or AANtv) is an American shopping channel
specializing in over-the-air auctions
Blocks of airtime are hosted by auctioneers who sell most goods through both standard and "dutch" auctions. Some items are sold at flat prices (buy it now); (usually) lower priced items are also sold through a silent picture-in-picture auction. AANTV broadcasts live auctions 24 hours a day on Dish and DirecTV satellite and Bright House and Time Warner cable television across the US and North America; studios are located in St Petersburg, FL. The network's broadcasts are also streamed live on its website, where customers may place online bids.
AANTV is a licensed and bonded auction house; several of its on-air hosts are also licensed auctioneers, as is founder Jeremiah Hartman.
Items sold and auctioned by the network range widely from jewelry to art and coins, as well as sports memorabilia, decorative carvings, Persian rugs and other items. Weekly real estate auctions feature foreclosed homes, western ranches, Arkansas Ozark Mountain home sites and vacant land; the network is a licensed real estate brokerage.
