. In 1946 he finished his studies of painting. Together with Guillermo Monroy and Arturo García Bustos
he founded the Artistas Jóvenes Revolucionarios, an association of "young revolutionary artists". Estrada belonged to the last students of Frida Kahlo, and was one of the four so-called "Fridos", who painted the mural "Pulquería Posada del Sol" with her.
After 1948, he taught at the "La Esmeralda". Also in 1948, he assisted José Clemente Orozco
at his mural at the Escuela Normal de Maestros, from 1951 to 1952 he assisted Diego Rivera at his works at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario
