Episode 1

Original Airdate: 8 August 2011

Following an exhaustive nation wide search and thousands of auditions, 100 girls made it to bootcamp. After three days of bootcamp, 20 girls advanced to a final round of casting, in which the final sixteen contestants would be selected. Upon their arrival, the girls were lined up to face Sarah and the judges. Dressed in swimwear, they had but one chance to impress the judges. There was an array of beauty and characters all vying for one thing: to be crowned Australia’s Next Top Model.

Before the end of day one however, the dream ended for 50 would-be models. After surviving the cull of the day before, the remaining 50 girls were told by Sarah that it was time to meet the "real them". They were told to Wipe off all of their make up, for a shoot that would test their inner confidence - showing themselves as they truly were.

After day two, another 20 girls were eliminated from the competition - leaving thirty girls fighting to be chosen for the next round. In the last day of bootcamp the remaining 30 girls were put to the test in an Alex Perry runway show, and ultimately ten more models were cut from the competition.

The end of this bootcamp episode came to a tantalizing climax, when the 20 remaining girls were told that all of them would be flown to Paris

This week is all about Focus – don’t lose it or you could be going home!

The models start with a yoga lesson to help them learn how to focus. Miranda Kerr’s yoga instructor Charlotte Dodson takes them through some poses. Amelia gets to show how flexible she really is. Caroline pulls a muscle in her knee - Charlotte Dodson is not so sure - and does not participate much. When the girls get back to the house, gifts were waiting for them.

Izzy is excited and even confesses during the photo shoot that her boyfriend has three coffins at his house. For Neo, a Sudanese refugee – this shoot is very confronting. She also has a disagreement with the stylist about wearing a wig.

During the elimination the judges are really happy with the pictures of Liz, Yolanda, Jess, Rachel, Amelia and Simone. Montana is also praised for giving a different - mysterious and sultry - expression, therefore showing improvement from last week. Neo delivered a great photo but was told her inability to take styling was getting in her way. However, Sarah says that there are a few they could possible send home today. Liz was called out first for being the only one who truly followed the brief. Eventually Tayah is sent home, because the judges thought her beauty did not translate into photos.

Episode 5

Original Airdate: 5 September 2011

The girls receive a message from Sarah about trusting others around you. The girls are excited when they arrive at a trapeze school gymnasium and see Charlotte on a swing. Neo, Rachel, Madeline and Liz all struggled with the challenge as they are all afraid of heights. However, all girls managed and their peers praised them for their courage.

Charlotte announces that tomorrow, the girls will be having a make-over at Joh Bailey's salon. Madeline, Rachel and Izzy all had dramatic changes. However, they were pleased with their new look and during judging, they were praised for having adjusted to their hair. Annaleise was disappointed with her hair, even though there has not been much of a difference.

During judging, the panel praised Alissandra for her strong facial features. However, her body did not fit in a size 10 dress and the judges were worried about how this could affect her potential during photoshoots. The judges agreed that Neo had potential, but was only using her face and not her body.

Annaleise, Madeline and Liz all failed to impress the judges, but the stand-outs were Montana, Izzy, Amelia and Rachel. The judges were pleased that although she (Rachel) was not comfortable being in an exposed jacket during the shoot, she looked confident in her pictures.

Montana, Rachel, Simone, and Izzy had their pictures published in the Sunday Mail and were won on the judging panel. Neo, Annaliese and Alissandra found themselves in the bottom three, but Neo's stronger portfolio saved her from elimination, eliminating the other two contestants.

Episode 6

Original Airdate: 12 September 2011

The girls are doing their morning chores during which what Simone says clearly irritates Neo. Then they receive Sarah mail, which says: "Life's a beach, but sometimes you have to roll with the punches."

The girls head to Bondi beach, where Charlotte and celebrity trainer Luke Hines from Bondi PT are waiting for them. Charlotte points out that keeping yourselves fit is very important, the difference between 15 mins of fame and maybe a life long career in modeling. Luke does not impress Caroline as she compares him to a Ken doll. The girls are instructed to form three lines of four, but the girls do not seem to know what that means. The girls have to do star jumps and sit-ups, but many girls - especially Rachel - are really uncoordinated and unfit. Next the girls are paired up for a running competition. The girls are really surprised how fast Neo is, even though according to them she only eats junk food and does not exercise. The run leads to surprises underneath buckets: coal, yellow rubber gloves, a scrubbing brush, an eye liner, a tea bag and a plastic bottle.

Next the girls go to Lux Studios. There Charlotte explains that models make a lot of money by representing or endorsing a brand. Today's challenge is for the girls to script a 30 second promo for their product. Rob Belgiovane, marketing executive from BWM, is introduced to critique the filmed ad. The two teams that win get to attend a relaunch of the Cartier boutique in an Alex Perry gown, wearing millions of dollars worth of Cartier jewellery. The first winners were representatives of coal, Caroline and Hazel, who's presentation was praised as being intelligent and believable with a great twist. Madeline and Rachel, representatives of a scrubbing brush, were the other winners of this challenge. They had a lot of information in the ad and a great delivery.

This week's photo shoot takes place at the historic grounds of Strickland House, where Josh is waiting for them. The girls will be shooting a national Blackmores campaign to promote and sell a new vitamin supplement for healthy hair, skin and nails. The photographer is Gabrielle Revere. She is looking for lots of natural energy and magic from the girls. It is freezing cold outside. Harper's Bazaar's Claudia Navone drops by during the shoot.

During elimination Alex Perry complains that Neo's picture is really ordinary, there's no energy and that her eyes are a bit glazed. Guest judge Gabrielle Revere says that Caroline's attitude is draining and no one wants to feel like the photographer is working for the model. Alex thinks Izzy looks in the picture like she fell asleep in the park and someone is dragging her by the feet. She ends up being the last one picked to continue in the competition. Gabrielle Revere thinks Yolanda has limitations: "She can't do the natural stuff." Montana gets high praise during elimination. Gabrielle Revere even mentions that she could see her making it in New York. Montana is picked as the face of Blackmores campaign but in the end the three early frontrunner Izzy, Neo and Caroline had low call-outs, while the latter two landed them in the bottom two and in a shocking elimination, both of them were sent home, despite being deemed front-runners in the early stages of the competition which had now been taken by Montana.

  • Eliminated: Neo Yakuac & Caroline Austin

Jess excelled, using her artistic talent to help recreate a great pose eventually being deemed the best group. The girls later checked into their hotel, where they were amazed with the views.

For their photoshoot, the models had to pose at the Remarkable rocks in tribal themed clothing. Rachel was first, she was told that she needed more energy but pulled it together in the end. Most of the girls excelled until the weather worsened causing Hazel and Madeline to pose in a cave, leaving the latter unhappy. Once returning to Sydney, the girls headed to judging. At panel, Hazel, Rachel & Izzy receive praise. Liz was told her picture was good but she needed more confidence while the rest of the girls received mixed criticism, but in the end Jess, Amelia and Yolanda fell into the bottom 3, all three was called out for not being versatile enough. Amelia was saved leaving Yolanda and Jess remaining.
