The first was called "Me and Mr Sanchez", which was released on the Virgin Records
label
. It entered the UK singles chart on 14 November 1981, and reached number 40; it was in the top 40 for four weeks. Their second chart success was "Klactoveesedstein", which entered the chart on 13 March 1982 and reached number 50, remaining in the top 100 for 24 weeks. Two other singles followed from the Chewing the Fat album, "Carioca", which failed to chart , and "Heavens Are Crying", that also failed to make an impact on the top 75. "Me and Mr Sanchez" was number one in Brazil for three months and was the theme tune for the 1982 World Cup.
They also released an album
, Chewing the Fat, which appeared in the UK Albums Chart
. Released on the Diable Noir label, it entered the chart on 6 November 1982. It remained in the chart for six weeks. Their follow-up album, Bees Knees and Chicken Elbows, was released in 1984, but the band had already broken up.
