Busswil bei Büren has an area, , of 3.05 km² (1.2 sq mi). Of this area, 1.57 km² (0.60618038899028 sq mi) or 51.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.87 km² (0.335908877975505 sq mi) or 28.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.6 km² (0.231661295155521 sq mi) or 19.7% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.02 km² (4.9 acre) or 0.7% is either rivers or lakes and 0.01 km² (2.5 acre) or 0.3% is unproductive land.
