Not long after, Blaque's album got shelved and the record remained unreleased for a while. One year later, Mis-Teeq re-recorded the song for their second album, including a modified introduction and a re-written bridge, rapped by the group's member Alesha.
When it came to "Scandalous"'s follow-up in summer 2003, the group and Telstar Records
decided to use a remixed version of "Can't Get It Back" as the official single version and instead the "Ignorants Radio Edit" was included in the video.
