and their 82nd season playing in The Football League
. It was also the clubs final season playing at Ninian Park

Three consecutive wins for the side meant that with 4 games remaining they needed two points to secure a play-off place but they only managed one point during the final four games, in a 2–2 draw with Charlton Athletic
