Cárthach Bán Breathnach is an Irish media celebrity most noted for his role in the hit TG4 series Aifric
and more recently he appeared as Aoddhan in the rish language soap Ros na Rún where he played a local ladies man. He is also a noted DJ and sports enthusiast. He comes from Indreabhán in the Connemara Gaeltacht and is the son of radio broadcaster Seán Bán Breathnach

(GAA) enthusiast and is hugely involved in his local GAA club, Mícheál Breathnach. He manages the adult ladies side with whom he has had some unprecedented success, winning the West Board Championship title this year as well as reaching the County Championship final. He is heavily involved with NUI Maynooth and was the manager of their fresher hurling team this year who got to the all Ireland final. He is the recipient of a hurling scholarship from the college and was also a member of their highly successful Sigerson football team.

Breathnach has received wide critical acclaim for his performances as Jimín Ó Gríofa in the Irish language series, Aifric.
