David G. Compton

David Guy Compton is a British science fiction author who publishes SF under the name D.G. Compton. His earlier crime novels were published under 'Guy Compton',and his Gothick novels under 'Frances Lynch'. He has also written short stories, radio plays, and a non-fiction book on stammering, its causes and cures.
Compton was born in London. He began publishing with his 1962 novel Too Many Murderers. His 1970 novel The Steel Crocodile (alternate title The Electric Crocodile) was nominated for the Nebula Award
, and his 1974 novel The Continuous Katherine Mortenhoe was filmed as Death Watch

during 1980. His 1968 novel Synthajoy was very similar in content to the 1983 film Brainstorm
