In 2009, David and his family decided to move to Australia, where his wife Catherine and mother Jacqueline had both grown up. They now reside in Dakeith, Perth, with their 2 youngest children. Their 3rd son, Charles O'Brien, recently graduated from Boston College with majors in Economics and Philosophy.
