Decade: Greatest Hits
Encyclopedia
Decade – Greatest Hits is a greatest hits album
by Duran Duran
, released on November 15, 1989 (see 1989 in music
).
The remix
single "Burning the Ground
" was released to radio to promote this album; it was created by producer John Jones
mixing snippets of the band's biggest hits from the previous decade into a new piece of music. However, the remix was not included on the Decade album.
On a whole, the Decade album acted more as a mix tape of Duran hits, as opposed to an essential album. It cherry picked hits from all the albums and presented them in mixes that were popular and mainstream among the public. Hence, it includes the Nile Rodgers
edit of "The Reflex" and the radio edits of "Notorious" and "Skin Trade".
The album was rendered obsolete in 1998 with the release of Greatest
, which included all 14 songs from this album, plus "New Moon on Monday" and four singles from the 90's.
In Brazil
, "All She Wants Is" was replaced by "A Matter of Feeling", which is one of the biggest hits of Duran Duran in the country, despite not being a single worldwide.
