Don't Get Done, Get Dom
Encyclopedia
Don't Get Done, Get Dom is a British
reality television
series which helps consumers get good deals when purchasing goods. The show lends its name from its presenter Dominic Littlewood
. It is aired on BBC One
and repeated on BBC Two
in the UK.
Series one was first aired in June 2006 and a second series was later commissioned and began to air in June 2007. Series three began in June 2008. Series four aired for two weeks on BBC in late May to early June 2010. Series five began on 25 April 2011.
This is achieved by Littlewood seeing camera footage of a first attempt, and giving them pointers. After this they try another shop but this time Littlewood can communicate to the member of the public by means of a hidden earpiece.
The show also helps out people in need, who have been treated unfairly, to get deals or refunds on products or services. Examples from the series are people who have had their wedding holiday spoilt by the company they booked with and someone who was being "ripped-off
" by their mobile phone provider (which, in this case, Littlewood just paid off the company).
Littlewood also deals with complaints to companies such as receiving a bill for something such as electricity prices which are higher than normal, in some, most cases the customers get their money back or some of the prices reduced by the companies itself.
There is a segment on the show dealing with what people know about their consumer rights and also giving out tips on how to get the most for your money.
There is also a section where Littlewood attempts to save a shopper he meets in the street money by haggling the deal himself.
