Ennis Henry Knoche was a deputy director of the CIA, from 7 July 1976 – 1 August 1977, and acting Director of Central Intelligence
from 20 January – 9 March 1977.
Knoche attended Mount Lebanon High School.
He studied at University of Colorado
as a part of the V-12 Navy College Training Program
program and graduated from Washington and Jefferson College, with an A.B., in 1946 - 1947. He played center in basketball, at the University of Colorado and Washington and Jefferson College, and almost became a professional.
He served in the United States Navy
