Edward R. O'Malley

Edward Richard O'Malley was an American lawyer and politician.

He was a member from Erie County of the New York State Assembly
in 1901 and 1902. He was New York State Attorney General
from 1909 to 1910, elected in 1908 but defeated for re-election in 1910. In 1914, he lost the Republican primary for Attorney General to Egburt E. Woodbury
.
In 1914, he was appointed Referee to inquire into the "Egg Trust" in New York City. He was a justice of the New York State Supreme Court from 1925 to 1933.
He was buried at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Buffalo.
Life
He was the son of Michael O'Malley and Bridget Whalen O'Malley. He worked on a farm and in a stone quarry before he entered Cornell University Law School in 1886. He graduated as LL.B. in 1891, and was one of the founding members of the Delta ChiDelta Chi
