Emil Büchner

Emil Adolf Büchner was a German conductor and bandmaster of the 19th Century. He wrote an important number of compositions , including operas, chamber music, choral works and symphonies.
Even in his childhood by his parents encouraged music, Emil Adolf Büchner attended and graduated the Leipzig Conservatory between April 1843 and Easter 1846. He was the 9th student to attend the newly formed conservatory and was exempt from paying tuition fees. After his studies, he worked as a piano teacher in Leipzig until 1856. After numerous engagements as a conductor he was from 1865 to court music and conductor of the Meiningen Court Orchestra

in 1867 in Meiningen, the festival of " General German Music Society ". In 1876 he introduced at the request of Richard Wagner
, the main contingent of the festival orchestra at the first Bayreuth Festival , which many years later participated in the Festival. The orchestra was able to bring Büchner during his time as Kapellmeister
to a significant increase in quality. In 1880 he gave his famous successor, Hans von Bülow
, the chapel, next to a known top European orchestra developed.
1881 Emil Adolf Büchner retired and moved to Erfurt
on. There, he led from 1882 to 1898 the "Sollerschen Musikverein. On his 80th Birthday, he finally got by Georg II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen
granted the title of professor.
Buechner was a member of the Leipzig Masonic Lodge Minerva
to the three palm trees.
