Erichsens Gård is Rønne
s best kept commoners house and now part of Bornholms Museum.
Erichsens Gård was build in 1806 and expanded in the 1830's and 1840's. It was Henning Pedersen, who drew Rønne Præstegård and the old city hall on Rønne's Store Torv who lived there between 1816 and 37.
Erichsens Gård got named after the next owner Thomas Erichsen. He moved to Bornholm
in 1832 and bought this house in 1838 and married himself with Michelle Westh in the same year. They got 12 children.
One of them, Vilhelmine Erichsen (1852-1935), became Kristian Zahrtmann
's muse. He painted her when she was fourteen years old. This painting is part of Bornholms Kunstmuseums collection. In 1871 Vilhemine got married with Zahrtmanns friend Holger Drachmann
in Gentofte
church. Erichsens Gård still houses much of the memories from these three artists.
Erichsens Gård became protected in 1919 and sold on February 15, 1950 by Elena Erichsen to Bornholms Museum.
