Finnås is a former municipality which is now part of the municipality of Bømlo
in Hordaland
county, Norway.

The parish of Finnaas was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt
). On July 1, 1916 the municipality was split to create three new municipalities: Bremnes
, the northern part of Finnås with 3,411 inhabitants; Moster
, the southeastern peninsula with 1,316 inhabitants and Bømlo
to the southwest with 1.217 inhabitants. Today, the three municipalities are united under the name Bømlo.
Kulleseidkanalen was a canal built in the 1800s which enabled boats to journey between the east and west sides of Bømlo. Today the channel is a small trading center and tourist center, and a popular guest harbor.
