Story

Sandy Ricks (Luke Halpin

) runs away from home to keep his pet dolphin Flipper from being taken away. He flees by motorboat to the Bahamas, where he witnesses a vacationing British family being taken hostage by some recently escaped convicts. The mother and two daughters are let go on a small boat and they escape to the nearby island Sandy is hiding on.

Meanwhile, Sandy befriends the youngest of the two daughters, Penny (Pamela Franklin

), and secretly helps her behind her sister's and mother's backs.

After a while, the convicts come back for the mother and 2 daughters. Sandy and Flipper make a plan to rescue them from the convicts.
