Furr's is a chain of family restaurants in the United States started by Roy Furr. The first location opened in Hobbs, New Mexico
in 1946. In corporate history it is notable for being a corporation in which an institutional investor TIAA-CREF
was able to oust the board of directors.
They are known for serving a large buffet line with a variety of foods; however, the employees serve the food the customers request (hence the "Cafeteria" in the restaurant's full name). Many of the restaurants dining areas have been designed with a rustic atmosphere. There is a small arcade room in the front lobby.
