A post graduate in commerce and a Cost & Works Accountant by education, Krishnan has dedicated his life to a career in music.

Krishnan began his musical training at the age of five under the watchful guidance of his illustrious grandfather Lalgudi Gopala Iyer who belonged to the enviable sishya parampara of Tyagaraja

Career

G. J. R. Krishnan debuted in 1973 and became popular. He travels extensively on musical tours all over the world. His style like his father's is the gayaka style closest to vocal rendition.
