Greezed Lightnin' is a steel Shuttle Looper

Greezed Lightnin' was designed by Anton Schwarzkopf
and opened in 1978 at Six Flags Astroworld
. It used a flywheel launch design and accelerated its 28 riders from 0 to 60 mi/h in roughly 4 seconds. The launch sends the train into a loop and up a 70 degree incline 100 feet (30.5 m). Once the train lost momentum it proceeded back down the incline, through the loop again (backwards), through the passenger station, and up another incline 137' 10", then forward again to the passenger station, where it stopped.
It has since been relocated to Joyland Amusement Park
in Lubbock, Texas
, however, work on the coaster was abandoned in 2008 and it is not planned to be rebuilt. There have been issues in the surveying with the park's low watertable that has kept the project grounded.
