Dave O'Neil
was formerly the anchor of the show since its inception in 2001 as it was known previous as 'Hughesy, Kate & Dave' but in 2006 he moved to breakfast Vega 91.5
(now 91.5FM). Tim Blackwell replaced O'Neil although his name is not credited in the shows title.
In 2009, Ed Kavalee
formerly of The Wrong Way Home Drive show with Akmal Saleh
and Cal Wilson
replaced Tim Blackwell as anchor with Blackwell heading Nova 100's Launchpad with Hayley Pearson. As of 2011, Blackwell now co-hosts Nova FM Drive with Meshel Laurie
and Marty Sheargold
.
In August 2009, Carrie Bickmore
announced that she is leaving Nova 100
to focus on her role at The 7PM Project
and spend time with her son. Bickmore finished at Nova 100
on 25 September 2009 with Lauren Brain replacing her news presenting position.
In December 2011, Ed Kavalee
resigned to focus on TV and film work. After 5 years with the show Jeff Tyler also resigned.
The show runs from 6am to 9am weekdays Monday to Friday, with all the latest music as well as daily topic discussions and special guests. A daily podcast featuring the best bits from each show is also available from iTunes as is the podcast for all other Nova radio breakfast shows in Australia.
