IMAGE&POETRY is an international
artistic

movement
, founded at Alfa Teatro, Torino, Italy
in 2007. The main ideas of the movement have been written in their manifesto consisting of 10 points. One of them is that a poem may inspire the creation of a figurative artwork
and vice versa.
Charter members are Aeronwy Thomas
(poet and writer), Gianpiero Actis (painter), Silvana Gatti (painter), Sandrina Piras (poet) and Lidia Chiarelli (coordinator). American poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti
and Italian artist Ugo Nespolo
are members of IMMAGINE&POESIA’s Honorary Committee. Beverly Matherne

Since its inception, IMMAGINE&POESIA has continued to grow. Hundreds of poets and artists from all over the world have participated, and the movement now reaches international audiences through the web, through international art exhibitions, and through a series of broadsides published by Cross Cultural Communications in New York

Manifesto
The manifesto consists of 10 points and has been translated into 28 languages. The fourth point suggests moments of cross fertilization for artists and poets in order to support the thesis that a literary text may inspire the creation of a figurative art work and vice versa: the result is a new and complete form of art.Exhibitions
